Sylwia Rochala

She was born in 1988 in Pruszków. She graduated from MSKPU in Warsaw, continuing her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. Currently, she is studying at the Institute of Art History at the UKSW in Warsaw. For five years, he has been creating collections in which she tries to combine the utility aspect with unique fabrics. She made her debut in the Re-Act Fashion Show 2009. Due to the secondary use of materials, her works were highlighted in the publication “Refashioned” (Laurence King) describing the most important achievements of the eco fashion.  She took part in the first collective exhibitions of contemporary Polish fashion – “Szafa Polska” (03-04.2013, Galeria Dizajn – BWA Wrocław) and “Gotyk Polski” (04/06/2014, Galeria Dizajn – BWA Wrocław). Due to regular presentations at Łódź and Berlin fashion weeks, she was appreciated by the editorial offices of “Vogue Italia”, “Harper’s Bazaar”, “Elle” and “Viva! Fashion”.
The collections come from conceptual inspirations, ranging from shamanistic ceremonial outfits to biomorphism. She also has her own interpretation of the Japanese boro technique and a collection dedicated to the work of Philip K. Dick. She runs her own studio and showroom in the center of Warsaw. About her creativity- (next to Maldoror, Paulina Plizga and oluhi), the publication “Gotyk Polski” (premiere 03.2015) is being prepared.
